Meet 'Maggie' Welcome swallow

The home of Josh Cook - wildlife carer extraordinaire - was an incredible place for me to work and the place where I photographed a beautiful Welcome Swallow. There were birds in care all through the house and the work that Josh put into returning them back to the wild was an extraordinary thing to witness. ⁣

On this particular day in 2016 I was joined by filmmakers Poppy Stockell and Aaron Smith who were shooting a documentary on me (Bird Nerd on ABC iview). I remember how excited I was for them as they entered a world that is hard to believe exists in a normal family home. ⁣
