There’s a game Cockatoos like to play with me called ‘Try to keep me in focus’. My friend Carnie the Carnaby Cockatoo is very good at it. He lives at Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre in Western Australia. They rescue wild black Cockatoos in distress & rehabilitate them for release. I’ve never seen a more comprehensive & professionally run rescue centre for Cockatoos. They have over 100 active volunteers & just three part time staff (who also volunteer). They rely on donations and grants to keep their doors open. I will be releasing 4 limited edition portraits taken at the centre over the next few weeks. An edition will be donated to help fundraise for Kaarakin’s inaugural 'Carnaby's Gala' dinner at Perth Zoo on the 5th of November.
