The Pet Show at Fotografiska, Stockholm
Here’s an exhibition I wish I could visit. If you are in Stockholm, Sweden visit a museum called Fotografiska @fotografiska.stockholm and an exhibition called ’The Pet Show’- on now until 13th February 2022.
The Pet Show is a tribute to pets and their presence in art and popular culture, presented either as companions, status symbols in the human world, friends, beloved family members or as works of art.
Fotografiska (English translation - Photographic) is a Museum dedicated entirely to photography. They are in Stockholm, New York, Berlin and Tallin (Estonia). Their mission statement reads: “We believe photography is an inclusive medium with a unique ability to shape emotions, convey stories and effect change.” They also say (personal favourite): “Have fun. Stay late. Get deep. Spill your drink.’”
It is a great honour to be included in this group exhibition along with these phenomenal artists (see gallery below).
